If your animal must be transported in the cargo compartment of the aircraft, rigid wooden or plastic boxes are mandatory for loading; water bowls and absorbent material must be inside. The transport box must be well-ventilated, escape and leak-proof. Your animal should have enough room to move and stand up inside it. Depending on the Airline, dogs and cats up to a maximum weight of 6 kilos can be transported in the passenger cabin in an appropriate container. Some animal species however, such as birds or rodents, will not be accepted by most Airlines as travel companions in the cabin.

It has always been a passion of mine to work with animals since I was younger. I have a diploma in Animal Management and a BSc Honours Degree in Zoology. I enjoy going to the cinema, baking, and spending time with friends and family.
I've worked for a London based animal charity in which I saw a wide variety of animals and found it greatly enriched my experience of being a vet. I then joined a very friendly and enthusiastic team at Vets4pets in Charlton for more than two years which helped me gain experience in customer care and running a surgery. I have a cockapoo called Archie and a horse called Will that I spent my time with. Isobel is currently a Student Veterinary Nurse studying at Writtle College. To im- or export an animal without flying by yourself you need a handling agent. Unfortunately, there are no special areas for pets to do their business in the transit areas. Please have something in your pocket so that you can clean up after your pet.
Our vets’ practices in Basildon are run by friendly and experienced teams of vets and nurses who will take care of your pets like they were their own. Georgia has been in practice since 2018 and is currently a final year student veterinary nurse. She has a strong passion for animal welfare, in practice, she likes to nurse hospital patients. I graduated in 1998 and since then have worked with small animals and horses in India, Malaysia and the UK.
